Our Mission Statement

By God's grace, Jesus Christ is changing lives in and through His willing people.

A mission statement is an interesting concept. While it is an exciting thing to contemplate, as a church we constantly need to remember that it is very much a modern, corporate, or business idea. A mission statement is a brief description of a church's core purpose. A mission statement is supposed to answer the question, "Why do we exist?" As such, the mission statement articulates our purpose and what it means to people in the world.

KCPC's mission statment embodies the great commission as given by Jesus to his disciples so long ago: Then Jesus came to them and said, "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age." Matthew 28:18-20 (NIV)

We understand that the work of God through Jesus Christ is one that is ministered by the Holy Spirit, full of grace and truth. The lives of God's people need to reflect the ongoing transforming work of God, and the response that must accompany it, namely, to share our faith effectively with those we meet in our world.
